FAQs
Is there a membership fee to join the academy?
No! There is no membership fee. All research supervision and mentorship are provided at no cost.
Who can apply?
We work with undergraduate, early graduate (Master’s), and advanced graduate (PhD-level) students. Project scope and supervision depend on background and readiness.
Do students need prior research experience?
No. Prior research experience is not required, particularly for undergraduates. Projects are designed to match each student’s preparation and strengths.
How are projects chosen?
Projects are individually fitted based on a student’s background, interests, and potential.
How is supervision structured?
Supervision is individualized and outcome-driven. Expectations are clear, progress is measured through research output, and mentorship is tailored to the student.
Are students guaranteed awards or funding?
No. Research awards are competitive and merit based. Eligibility does not guarantee an award; awards are granted based on the quality and impact of the work.
Can students publish their work?
Yes. Students can be supported through the full research process, including writing, revision, and submission where appropriate.
Do I need to be selected to present at the Research Symposium?
No. All researchers part of the Academy can present their work at our yearly summer Research Symposium, and we highly recommend all of our researchers to do so.
How do I get involved?
Students may apply here.
Faculty, researchers, and supporters may also contact the academy to discuss collaboration or support.
